While there is some merit to the fact that many younger employees often have unrealistic expectations regarding salary—especially starting salary, the truth is that wages need to increase if we expect the economy to work for everyone. It’s pretty simple. If people can’t afford to spend money, businesses will collapse, which leads to layoffs and even lower consumer spending.
